Meet Shannon Holcomb

Shannon is a grounded and practical lawyer who has been practicing law since 1997. Growing up on a cattle ranch in Oklahoma instilled simple values around family and community which are essential to his practice. A father of two teenage girls, he enjoys the family centered community of Fort Collins for the basis of his practice.

In his spare time, Shannon enjoys the active lifestyle of many outdoor activities including hiking, bicycling, swimming, working out and hanging out with his daughters. He enjoys reading inspirational books, learning about new computer technologies, and going to community events. Shannon is a member of the Fort Collins Northern Colorado Entrepreneurs, Northern Colorado Sustainability, and Investor’s Business Daily Groups.

After graduating from high school in Oklahoma, he attended the University of Oklahoma where he earned his B.A. degree in Administration, and minor in Economics. While at the University of Oklahoma, Shannon earned his way through college, working for local construction companies, restaurants, and other small businesses. He also enjoyed getting his private pilot’s license, playing rugby and intramural sports.

After college, Shannon worked in Atlanta, Georgia in industrial sales. He then attended law school at the University of Tulsa College of Law where he also worked for a small litigation law firm. He volunteered his time in the Volunteer Income Tax Assistance program, and through the student bar association.

Shannon was honored to be asked to join the prestigious Tulsa Journal of Comparative and International Law, where his legal article, INTERNATIONAL DOUBLE TAXATION, THE FOREIGN PARENT CASE: BARCLAYS BANK V. FRANCHISE TAX BD. OF CALIFORNIA, 2 TULSA J. COMP & INT'L L. 347 (1995), was selected for publication. He was a member of Phi Delta Phi, Tulsa Sports Law Society and the Association of Trial Lawyers of America (student member).

After learning the ropes as an associate attorney, he opened his own general practice law firm in Montrose, Colorado. As an active member of the community his practice built quickly. He served as a Board Director for the Montrose Chamber of Commerce and for the Black Canyon Boys and Girls Club.

After visiting Fort Collins, it was an easy decision to move to the city that many consider the best place in Colorado to live and work. Shannon then used his skills as a lawyer for the University of Colorado at Denver Health Sciences before re-establishing his private practice in the Fort Collins downtown area.
